Colpac is the first company to have been awarded the reviewed and updated Environmental Seal of Business Excellence from The British Printing Industries Federation (BPIF). This award demonstrates Colpac’s commitment to sustainability and stringent environmental practices.

Colpac passed all requirements of the seal, which included areas such as waste management, supplier due diligence, and carbon footprint initiatives. The company demonstrated its waste procedures, refined purchasing strategy, and net zero programme, amongst other policies to secure the award. Mike Haynes from the BPIF congratulated and praised the Colpac team on its hard work, dedication, and overall approach to managing the company’s environmental impacts.

“Sustainability is at the core of everything that we do at Colpac. We are passionate about improving the sustainability of our packaging and building environmental practices to advance business as a force for good. It’s exciting to have received recognition from the BPIF,” said Talia Goldman, ESG Manager at Colpac.

Colpac develops sustainable food packaging for a range of markets. As a UK manufacturer, the company is aware of the challenges of decarbonisation within packaging manufacturing but embraces change and utilises its agility to continuously improve. Colpac has recently calculated its scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions for the first time, and is working through how to deliver its short- and long-term net zero targets.

“I am delighted that we have received this seal of excellence from the BPIF – a fantastic achievement for us to share with our green team and colleagues across the business. We always welcome fresh perspectives and recommendations for improvement of our processes and sustainability initiatives,” said Frances Dickman, Compliance and QA Manager at Colpac.

Colpac is a platinum member of the BPIF, which means the company has access to specialised expertise, industry specific training, and business improvement consultation. Regular reviews of its sustainability practices will support Colpac in continuously pushing its environmental ambition.

Colpac also received the Health and Safety Seal of Excellence from the BPIF in 2022.
